Culture, town music and festivals

Give your town a shared identity, choose its music and gather people at the Bandstand. Culture shapes civic life without turning residents into combat classes.

Give a town a shared identity

Culture is identity and communication, not profession/stat progression. A town is Unaligned or belongs to one named culture. Managers create/join/leave with default 24 civic-hour change cooldown. Names are unique, 3–32 characters; descriptions allow 512, palettes choose two dye colors, world limit defaults 128. Town mottos allow 60 characters.

A culture creator does not gain management of joining towns. Creator, town manager and administrator authority remain separate.

Opt into the Culture Channel

The screen message board defaults off for each player. Limits are 256 characters, 40 ticks between posts, 100 retained messages per culture and 7 civic days. Hiding senders, reporting, admin removal and temporary mutes are implemented. Leaving town/culture revokes access. Town/nation-wide chat is not a substitute channel; those organizations use pigeon post.

Set zone music

A Town Speaker configures a town track; authorized plot owners can set a plot override. IDs refer to registered sound events. The default list selects thirteen older music discs (13, cat, blocks, chirp, far, mall, mellohi, stal, strad, ward, 11, wait, otherside), not every disc in Minecraft 1.21.1.

An enabled plot track wins over town track, then normal background music applies. Zone enable/repeat default off, with one zone track per player. Client behavior uses 40-tick fades, 100-tick repeat gap and brief relog memory to avoid immediate restart of a nonrepeating track.

Personal audio defaults on at 30% volume; Minecraft’s Music slider also applies. Historical evidence showed playback initiation but had no sound device, so audible quality remains unverified.

Compose and hold a festival

The Bandstand has a 32-step anthem composer, instruments/tempo, saved melodies, note particles and performance. Anthem cooldown defaults 30 seconds. A festival costs 250 × index from treasury, lasts 30 minutes and has a 72-hour start cooldown. It sends notices, repeats anthems, uses culture-color fireworks and by default makes the town’s travel open/free.

Hero of the Village defaults off. Ordinary culture does not inherently grant combat/economic status bonuses. Use travel for arrival rights and configuration for defaults.

Custom models, pixel art, pigeon colors, guards, eleven development badges and HUDs are reported presentation assets. They do not imply narrated quests or a custom music-file delivery service.
