Stations, restoration and law
Approach a station as a visitor with a ship to dock. Its condition, available services and security rules determine what you can do once inside.
These guides describe the October 23, 2026 development version. The older download with the same version number is missing later features.
Docking and services
O opens station docking. Stations have persistent placement, reserved berths and a shared interior dimension. Entry is a transfer, not simply walking into the hollow exterior. A 15-second combat lock can refuse docking; reservations and capture checks also apply.
The twelve archetypes are Wayfarer Stop, Fuel Exchange, Salvage Depot, Freeport Market, Survey Observatory, Hydroponic Haven, Repair Shipyard, Frontier Bastion, Pilgrim Archive, Drift City, Quarantine Laboratory and Smuggler Den. Size ranges from Tiny to Huge. Names suggest purpose; economy definitions and current state determine actual offers, including trade, patterns, repairs, fuel, salvage and medicine.
Abandoned conditions
| Condition ID | Threat |
|---|---|
| Vacuum hull | Vacuum |
| Total blackout | Power loss and shut doors |
| Pirate occupation | Pirates |
| Alien nest | Alien enemies |
| Reactor leak | Radiation |
| Frozen utilities | Extreme cold utilities |
| Rogue security | Rogue security |
| Gravity fault | Gravity disruption |
| Fungal takeover | Spores |
| Phase instability | Phase hazards |
| Cargo disaster | Fires and trapped crew |
| Silent memorial | No response |
Conditions apply local hazards, finite enemy slots, tasks and objectives inside reserved interior regions. Utility controllers support restoration and claims for eligible abandoned types. Claimability is conditional, not a promise for every station.
Law and guards
Working stations use caution, warning, surrender, force and detention/fines. Claimable abandoned stations do not receive the same lawful guard roster. Guard-only witnessed reputation loss remains a stated limit, even where economy-reported crimes can alter standing.
Ownership, docking, surrender and restoring a utility are different operations. Generated administrator resets and station-building commands are not survival recovery steps. Use command permissions and facility services for the corresponding systems.
