Anomalies and the Event Shelf
Understand anomaly eligibility, black-hole crossing, Shelf hazards and the White Fountain return without inventing universal time acceleration.
These guides describe the October 23, 2026 development version. The older download with the same version number is missing later features.
Some details are still being checked. Read the limits beside the affected instructions.
Discovery spoilers aheadAnomaly encounters
The source reports 12 anomaly types with deterministic placement, persistent state, scanning and authored points of interest. System candidates use 20% and intersystem-route candidates 8%, before type eligibility and clearance. Hearth excludes dangerous random black-hole, ion-storm and battlefield candidates. Transient rifts/storms have separate state from permanent anomalies; deleting a custom record does not prove a generated anomaly can be permanently erased.
Black holes have distinct warning, pull, capture and visual thresholds. The report gives 768, 384, 160, 96, 80 and 48 blocks for different thresholds, but they must not be treated as interchangeable “event range.” Capture lasts 12 seconds before crossing. The report’s general chapter does not pair every listed radius with a complete field definition; use warnings and a later validated boundary reference rather than guessing one.
A shared persistent region
Crossing a particular black hole maps to its Event Shelf region, allowing travelers through that same hole to meet. This is region storage, not another infinite procedural surface-slot supply. The environment is vacuum plus extreme cold, with Horizon Glass, debris, resources and encounters.
Living entities receive half gravity and reduced fall damage; ships fly normally. Shear seams lift nearby players and sneaking cancels the lift. Tidal surges warn 15 seconds before a ten-second gravity hazard. Cover and seams offer protection. Sight hunters use position history for their light-lag behavior.
Echo Wisps drop Light Residue. Shear Stalkers attack near seams. The Witness guards one Chronon Crystal per region. Frozen hull cargo and debris/Singularity Shards are finite resources. First crossing records an advancement and reveals nearby black holes; those materials support late equipment such as Chronon Core and Graviton Boots.
Return through the White Fountain
The White Fountain is typically 400–600 blocks from arrival. Hold a ship in the plume three seconds, or remain five seconds on foot, to return near the originating gate outside its pull. There is no expedition countdown demanding an immediate return. Interior crew are part of travel handling, though that flow has not been newly tested here.
ShelfTime’s default 2.0 factor scales covered mod warp charges and module cooldowns. It does not prove that all vanilla simulation or every item cooldown runs at double speed. Event Shelf remote possession recovery also has increased cost, distinct from a normal Fountain return.
See life support and travel and recovery before relying on an emergency route. The exact complete twelve-type name catalog and fully labeled black-hole boundaries are not supplied by the chapter and remain evidence backlog rather than invented entries.
