Power, panels and water utilities
Prepare for the day the mains go dark. A maintained generator, battery or solar supply can keep essential appliances working.

- Water shutdown
- Each region, default survival day 5–20
Power supply paths
Explanatory diagram based on the report; not a gameplay capture. A panel breaker controls its covered supply. A directly wired independent source can keep an appliance on; device and revision checks still apply.
Before and after mains shutdown
Each region shuts down independently: default power day 7–30, water day 5–20, measured in survival days. A utility control station with a running generator can restore a region; reported upkeep is one litre of fuel per survival day. That is base-mod fuel upkeep, not a money-billing system.
In revision-9+ worlds, appliances need a wire or powered building-panel coverage. Older worlds retain earlier mains behavior until shutdown. Utility devices have their own grid-access rules.
Make an independent supply
Portable generators burn gasoline/diesel, require exhaust open to the sky and produce noise heard roughly 32–48 blocks away under the guide’s conditions. Solar panels generate during the day; battery banks carry stored energy into the night. Adjacent compatible devices share power.
| Connection | Limits |
|---|---|
| Ordinary wire link | Up to 16 blocks; six links/device; 5% loss/link |
| Transformer link | Up to 64 blocks; one input and up to 16 outputs; 1% loss |
| Transformer protection | Loops and a second input refused |
Use a wire spool to connect supported devices. Check each device’s requirements rather than equating adjacency, panel coverage and direct wiring.
Check a dark appliance
- Confirm the generator/fuel, solar conditions or battery supply.
- Check its wire path or the building’s panel. Generated panels cover their building; a placed panel covers its room within the supported range, up to 12 blocks.
- Use the panel’s G radial to inspect its main breaker; claim USE permission is required. The breaker state persists.
- Check the appliance’s draw: refrigerator 5, freezer 8, water purifier 5, water pump 3 energy/s.
- If an appliance stays on with the panel breaker off, check for its own direct independent wiring. That route can bypass the panel.
Water and restoration limits
Rain collectors, pipes and a water purifier support a clean-water route. A filter lasts 100 L. Household water and hygiene have distinct supply costs.
An optional integration can cut mains power inside an affected area; generators, batteries and reactor lines keep their own supply rules. Paid fuel upkeep is not provided by this integration. The separate reactor restart guide contains progression spoilers; the reactor safely shuts down on lost cooling and has no meltdown mechanic in this report.
Admin & server owner reference
Exact identifiers, original fields and source locators are preserved below. These records describe the documented mod version; they are not commands to run or proof of a new gameplay test.
Original wording and exact fields
A mains-grid veto hook can block mains for a chunk column; generators, batteries and reactor lines remain valid. API v1 does not supply paid fuel upkeep.
