Before entering the world

Use Minecraft Java 1.21.1, Java 21 and a supported NeoForge build (21.1.200 or newer within the documented environment; development used 21.1.252). Install the matching Afterfall 0.14.0 mod file on both client and server, and remove the older Afterfall file from that instance. Optional external media needs separate client support. Exact loader ranges are kept below for server owners.

Follow your pack’s own installation instructions when supplied. These pages describe reported mod defaults. A fresh world is the clearest way to see revision-11 generation; an update preserves an old world’s planning rules.

Search the starter house

  1. Create your survivor and choose an offered starting settlement. Profession and background affect the kit; the server validates your selection.
  2. Search cupboards, wardrobes, fridges and drawers. Look in kitchen furniture for food and bathroom cabinets for treatment supplies. Hold G over a supported target and release over an option; disabled options explain the missing requirement.
  3. Secure clean water and something to eat, then close the doors. Rain and natural water need treatment; do not assume a full container is safe.
  4. Open B, the Health panel, and use its tutorial practice patient. Identify bleeding and the supply needed for a suitable treatment before a long outing.
  5. Open U to inspect clothes and bags. Your base comfortable carrying allowance is 24 kg; extra inventory slots do not remove mass limits.
  6. Find a bed and a defensible room. Ordinary sleep recovers you while the world continues; nearby hostiles and pain can prevent it. Barricading requires a claw hammer and boards and takes four real seconds.

Your first useful result is a known resting place, food, safe water and a treatment plan. Campaign and NPC-job progress can follow once those needs are covered.

Read time correctly

One survival day is 24,000 ticks, equivalent to 20 real minutes at 20 TPS; one survival hour is 1,000 ticks or 50 real seconds at that rate. Real-second interaction durations are a different unit. Low server tick rates can change wall-clock elapsed time.

If an action fails

Read the disabled radial option first. Reach, supplies, target state and permissions are checked again at completion. Supported timed work can retain progress for ten real minutes by default, including relogs; retained progress is not a completed repair or treatment.

A locked vault needs the right powered/heavy equipment. Native claims restrict other players and do not stop infected. If a newer building feature is absent, check the world’s planning revision before assuming a failed installation.

Continue with health and treatment, safe food and water and scavenging.

Exact installation metadata

Use Minecraft Java 1.21.1, Java 21 and NeoForge 21.1.200 or newer within the report’s declared environment. Exact declared ranges are Minecraft [1.21.1,1.21.2), NeoForge [21.1.200,) and javafml [4,); the development target was NeoForge 21.1.252. Install one matching Afterfall 0.14.0 JAR on clients and server, removing the older Afterfall JAR from that instance. The base mod declares Minecraft and NeoForge; optional external media has separate client requirements.
