Brewery import and conversion
Understand current Brewery conversion support, exact quality mapping, omitted world data and the unverified installed-server migration path.
The Brewery importer is current reported functionality in Brewhaven 1.4.0. An early out-of-scope decision is superseded by the implementation described in the report. Real installed-server migration and real Brewery-file import were not run in the report or during wiki authoring. Use an isolated copy for any migration test.
Preparation described by the project
The README describes moving Paper dimension folders into the world first, then placing Brewery config.yml, data.yml and worlddata.yml inside <world>/brewery-import/. Optional mapping.yml resolves additional recipe names. Review a dry run before a committed import:
/brewhaven import brewery dryrun
The committed /brewhaven import brewery command changes world/data and renames input files. These are reference instructions, not evidence that a particular server layout is compatible.
Potion conversion
Automatic conversion recognizes supported Brewery potion metadata, older hidden-lore encodings and recognized quality names/star lines. It runs on relevant login/container/item paths and traverses supported nested shulker/bundle contents. Recognition includes six upstream languages and imported names; this is separate from Brewhaven’s English UI localization. Converted drinks retain sealed state.
| Brewery quality | Brewhaven result |
|---|---|
| 9–10 | Masterwork 95 |
| 7–8 | Fine 82 |
| 4–6 | Standard 62 |
| 1–3 | Standard 50 |
| 0 or unresolved recipe | Spoiled Brew |
brewing.convertBreweryPotions defaults true. Retained conversion keys/names support later recognition.
Folder import and omissions
Supported barrel contents become vanilla barrels at the old sign/fence position. If placement is obstructed, contents drop instead. Drunkenness queues for players’ next login. A committed import writes logs/brewhaven-brewery-import.txt and marks input files *.imported.
Unsupported: pending barrel aging, cauldrons, wake-up points, statistics and pre-2.0 legacy brews. Retaining a drink does not imply pending processing or every upstream record migrates.
Validation still required
The project has importer source and historical GameTest claims, plus packaged SnakeYAML 2.2. Those do not establish a successful installed standalone server or real-file migration. On a disposable copy, compare dry-run proposals, committed report, supported contents and rejected records, recording the exact artifact hash and server settings. Do not test on the original world.
