Brewdream travel and phases

Discovery spoilers: enter and leave the dream, read its timer and phases, and understand exploration events.

Discovery spoilers ahead

Discovery spoilers. The Brewdream is a floating-island dimension for exploration and recipe discovery. It has Dreamstone and Dream Turf islands, clouds, cherry vegetation, giant bottles and floating casks. Its pink elephants are temporary event entities. No boss campaign or currency progression is documented.

Enter and return

With dreams enabled, enter a usable bed during a blackout. This path relaxes daytime and nearby-monster restrictions and enters after about 30 sleeping ticks. Holding a Rebound Bloom while entering a valid bed offers a route without blackout; survival consumes it and starts the dream in Rebound.

Arrival creates a cloud platform with a purple bed, avoiding recognized structure blocks where possible. Default stay is five online minutes. Lie in a dream bed to wake deliberately. Timer expiry, falling below the lower boundary or lethal damage also wake the dreamer. The lethal handler aims to wake before consuming a totem; a death-event backstop cancels death. These are reported handlers, not a new guarantee from a playtest.

Return attempts the area beside the original sleep bed, then the saved entry position, with world spawn as fallback for lost state. Intoxication becomes at most 25 and 60 hangover seconds are added, capped at 300. Portal travel is blocked; operator teleports remain possible.

Stay clock

An alcoholic serving adds time based on the transaction’s alcohol addition after Measured Sip and Sour Aftertaste, not the remaining headroom below 100:

added ticks = max(100, round(alcohol addition × dreamDrinkSeconds × 20
                            / (1 + 0.25 × prior drinks)))

The server’s default drink-time extension setting is four seconds. Setting extension to zero adds no time; the minimum in the formula does not override that disabled setting. There is no configured stay-length cap. The earlier ten-minute cap was superseded.

Default setting exampleAdded time
30-point drink, first in stay2:00
30-point drink, fifth1:00
30-point drink, twenty-first0:20

Below intoxication 40, the clock consumes two ticks per online tick. Natural dream intoxication decay is one point per 100 online ticks / five seconds, four times the waking rate. Drunk-behavior pulses pause inside the dream, including pass-out.

Brewdream Still, Drift and Rebound phase thresholds

Schematic based on the reported Brewhaven 1.4.0 rules; the text below preserves conditions and exceptions.

Phases and events

PhaseTriggerEvents and loot context
StillDream age below 2:00 with intoxication at least 40Calm opening; Still stash table
DriftAge 2:00–4:00 with intoxication at least 40Hypnic drops, distant thunder; Drift stash table
ReboundAge 4:00+, or immediately below intoxication 40Brighter fog, slow dimming, blooms, Parade; Rebound stash table

Each alcoholic drink at intoxication 40+ subtracts ten seconds from phase age, delaying Rebound. Drift/Rebound events use randomized intervals. Hypnic drops briefly remove ground and restore it after roughly three seconds, with slow-falling protection. Reduced motion disables the flicker presentation.

Pink elephant Parade

This is Brewhaven’s documented temporary event entity, rather than a persistent hostile mob population. The historical image below shows the five elephants.

The Parade sends five glassy pink elephants across the dream for twenty seconds. Touching one wakes a survival dreamer. Remaining within twelve blocks of the leader at completion awards a Parade Figurine and has a 50% additional Vision Fragment chance.

Historical 53_pink_elephant_parade.png, supplied project, report p. 12 / E15. The clock and terrain belong to the captured context; old chunks can retain earlier cloud stripes.

Explore and discover

Generation defines two cloud-puff attempts per chunk; rarity filters are giant bottles 1 in 8, floating casks 1 in 10, Ninepin Greens 1 in 40. These are placement-attempt settings, not guaranteed visible features per selected chunk. Giant bottles/casks contain Vision Bottles with nearby stashes; a Ninepin Green has nine pins and a stash.

Use a Vision Bottle in survival to reveal one randomly selected unknown method; the bottle block is removed. If all methods are known, it grants 30 experience points. Creative interaction does not consume the discovery. Three Vision Fragments craft one bottle. Stashes roll for the opener’s current phase, then disappear.

See dream finds and exact loot tables for the reagents and six dream draughts for their processes.

Boundaries of documented content

Looping bridges, whirl islands, false awakening/Lord’s Chamber, Undercloud and ghostly bowlers remain proposals. They are not destinations or quest steps for this guide. Dream balance, event frequency and new-chunk terrain still need runtime playtesting.
